New Varieties and Premium Products Drive Sales Growth in Fruit & Vegetables Market
In recent years, the UK fruit and vegetables market has seen suppliers attempting to increase sales through new varieties and premium products. Consumer demands have been addressed in terms of new varieties, with the introduction of more exotic produce, while premium products include a range of pre packed and prepared salads and vegetables and mini versions of fruits and vegetables aimed at the lunch box and snacking markets. Volume consumption of fruit and vegetables is unlikely to experience a significant increase, but the development of more premium and value-added products will help value sales growth.
