Brits prefer their own cooking!
British consumers who want something special to eat are now more likely to make a home-cooked meal for themselves than order fast food or have a ready meal, according to recent research by IGD.

23% prefer to cook a nice meal for themselves, double the number in 2002. Only 14% prefer to let someone else do the hard work for them, in the form of a ready meal or takeaway, down from 23% five years ago.

"Thanks in part to the celebrity chef trend, consumers have the knowledge and confidence to try new things in the kitchen," said Gerardine Padbury, senior consumer analyst for IGD.
