Ethnic Growth Fuels Bread Market
For a number of years the bread sector has been inhibited by its status as a mature and saturated market. During 2000, growth continued to slow down within bakery snacks, while the ethnic and speciality breads sector showed strong growth – these products are now driving the sector as companies seek new ways to add value and to widen the consumer base. The explosion in ethnic foods is considered likely to continue to fuel the growth of this sub-sector.
