Minara Foods Naanwich
Minara Foods was founded by Minara Cook whose late father opened the first Indian restaurant in Manchester in 1938. The company manufactures and markets a range of Indian food products under the Minara brand.

The brief
No brief as such for this project: Bryt was working with Minara Foods on another food product and spotted the potential of the curry-filled naan breads Minara was making and freezing so that her own children could help themselves to something wholesome to eat when they got home.

Our solution
The curry in a naan idea was developed into the Naanwich, for which Bryt created the name and the unusually-shaped packaging in a range of bright, eye-catching colours. The Naanwich is ready to eat cold or can be heated in a couple of minutes – and it’s the shape of the packaging that allows it to be eaten on the move, even when hot.

Bryt also created the marketing strategy for the Naanwich and undertook extensive consumer research to fine tune the product proposition before acting as product agents for Minara Foods - selling in the concept to the major multiple retailers.

The results
Bryt saw the potential for a new product in the fast-growing sandwich and snack sector – particularly with the UK consumer’s love of all things Indian. The Naanwich is now on successful sale throughout the UK.
